Associate. Appellate counsel. Austin & Houston.
Patrick Doyle is an associate at Doyle Dennis Avery LLP who splits his time between Austin and Houston, Texas. Patrick’s primary trial practice — maritime, FELA/Railroad personal injury, insurance bad faith, and broader personal injury matters — is profiled in detail at the firm’s offshore injury practice site and the firm’s separate FELA railroad practice site.
On this site, Patrick’s role supports the firm’s appellate work, which includes the firm’s published Texas appellate authority in SJ Medical Center, L.L.C. v. Anozie (the federal EFAA framework) and Salas v. Fluor Daniel Services Corp., 616 S.W.3d 137 (Texas Labor Code § 451 circumstantial-evidence framework). Patrick has substantial appellate experience — including argument before the Texas Supreme Court — and supports appellate matters across the firm’s full case docket.
Before joining the firm, Patrick spent five years at one of the world’s largest law firms, where he handled complex business and antitrust disputes across multiple industries including healthcare, manufacturing, retail products, media, and real estate. He has experience handling cases ranging from small disputes to billions of dollars in claimed damages through all stages of pre-dispute negotiations to trial, with appearances before courts throughout the United States.
Patrick earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2019, and his Bachelor of Arts from Santa Clara University in 2016, where he graduated magna cum laude with dual degrees in History and Economics. He was a four-year member of the Santa Clara crew team and served as team captain his senior year.
